Zeona Road is a 40 mile gravel road in South Dakota, named after the Wild West town, “Zeona”, which was cofounded in 1911 by the homesteading great great grandparents of Emmy, Payton, and Eva Jerde. The trio, inspired from their heritage, created modern day band Zeona Road in July 2015.

They are a country-pop-rock band which consists of the 3 eldest Jerde kids There are 10 Jerde kids total. Phil and Jill, their parents, constantly played music and had music on as they worked and played on the ranch. From the country greats including Johnny Cash, Don Williams, Dolly Parton, and Shania Twain to rock and roll legends Bon Jovi, Fleetwood Mac, and Aerosmith, the kids spent their free time learning songs. The whole family would play church events, county fairs, and barn dances before the band officially formed. They grew up with grit, simplicity, and an appreciation for nature on Great Plains Buffalo Ranch, near Zeona, SD.

The band moved the band to Nashville in 2016 and began steadily playing at Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge. Summers 2016, 2017, and 2018, they have booked their own tours and have spent time on the road playing fairs, festivals, and private events steadily from May to September, also booking additional winter dates. They have had the opportunity to travel all over the US, and they keep pushing farther every year based on opportunity from their awesome fans, who the siblings consider family. They created their first 11 song full-length self-titled album in 2018. They wrote 10 of the 11 songs.

The band members are Emmy, Payton, and Eva Jerde. They really focus their time on honing in on sibling harmonies. In addition to their voices, all three of them are multi-instrumentalists.

Eva, the youngest in the trio, is the primary lead singer of the band. She plays a Nord keyboard and electric guitar. Some of her favorite influences are Nirvana, Bob Seger and Lady Gaga.

Payton, the middle man, is currently serving as the bands booking agent and tour manager. He plays bass guitar, drums, and acoustic guitar. His favorites include Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, and Shania Twain.

Emmy is the eldest of the siblings. She plays fiddle, piano, guitar, and dabbles in the rhythm section. Her favorite musicians include Fleetwood Mac, Shania Twain, Dolly Parton, Heart, and Journey.

Most recently, they were grateful to be nominated for iHeart Radio’s Best New Artist of the Year for the Rocky Mountain Country Music Awards. Zeona Road is currently writing for their next project and planning their summer/fall 2019 tour.
